Two renewable natural gas facilities in the Upper Piedmont are now operating in landfills

Sisters, ore., November 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Evensol LLC, a developer of renewable energy projects focused on biogas and methane mitigation, announced that it has developed two renewable natural gas (“RNG”) facilities in North Carolina Which is now ready to work. Foothills Renewable Energy Sources Project in Caldwell County, North Carolinaand the Upper Piedmont Renewable Energy Project Pearson County, North Carolina, convert landfill gas from Republic Services’ landfills to RNG. They make a meaningful, positive environmental impact, taking a natural byproduct of waste and turning it into renewable fuel.

Evensol, headquartered in Sisters, orAnd its partners invested more than $110 million In joint projects. Charlotte, NickDuke-based Energy is an equity investor in the two projects. The financing also included approx 73 million dollars In USDA-guaranteed loans arranged through Greater Commercial Lending (“GCL”).

Both projects include the development, design, permitting, construction, commissioning and operation of a modern compressed natural gas facility. Energyneering Solutions, LLC (“ESI”) designed, constructed and operated the facilities. Key components of the project include equipment from Air Liquide, Guild Associates, Perennial Energy and Filter Manufacturing.

Renewable natural gas from the utility will provide clean transportation fuel for commercial fleet vehicles. Each project will initially produce up to 500,000 dekatherms of renewable natural gas each year. Combined, the million deaths equates to the average annual natural gas use of approximately 17,000 residential customers in North Carolina.
