Simon Cowell rushed backstage during Britain’s Got Talent auditions to help a young dancer who suffered a terrible fall on Sunday.

The auditions, which were being held at the Lowry Theater in Salford, were abruptly halted after a member of the dance troupe suffered a horrific accident.

The TV mogul, 64, and fellow judge Bruno Tonioli rushed to the wings to check on the performer as the safety curtain was lowered.

The dancer is said to have collapsed on the wings and was treated by a paramedic with Simone and Bruno also checking on the injured contestant while fellow judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon entertained the audience.

A source told The Sun: “It was a real shock when it happened as the young man, who was in his early 20s, was clearly in pain.

The dancer looked to the moon as he greeted fans on the carpet after joining the judging panel for the first time last year.

Simon had previously been forced to withdraw from filming due to illness.

The music mogul was pictured arriving to film an earlier round of auditions in Manchester on Tuesday, after being struck by a severe headache that left him too ill to work.

While heading to The Lowry, Simon showed off his admiration while wearing one of his signature black ensembles.

While he was previously seen wearing a pair of tinted ‘blue light filter’ glasses, which are believed to help prevent migraines, this time he has swapped them for a pair of signature aviators.
