Simon Cowell comes to the rescue as he “rushes backstage at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions after a young dancer is involved in a horrific accident.”
Simon Cowell rushed backstage during Britain’s Got Talent auditions to help a young dancer who suffered a terrible fall on Sunday.
The auditions, which were being held at the Lowry Theater in Salford, were abruptly halted after a member of the dance troupe suffered a horrific accident.
The TV mogul, 64, and fellow judge Bruno Tonioli rushed to the wings to check on the performer as the safety curtain was lowered.
The dancer is said to have collapsed on the wings and was treated by a paramedic with Simone and Bruno also checking on the injured contestant while fellow judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon entertained the audience.
A source told The Sun: “It was a real shock when it happened as the young man, who was in his early 20s, was clearly in pain.
Unfortunately, the rest of the band members were so focused, and there were so many of them, that they completed the routine before they fully realized how seriously injured he was.
After the safety curtain was lowered, Simon and his fellow judge Bruno Tonioli went backstage to check on the player. (Judges) Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon helped entertain the audience as they anxiously waited to find out what happened.
A spokesperson for the show said: “The health and safety of our contestants is of the utmost importance.
A member of the dance troupe suffered an injury during an audition and was seen by paramedics on set as a precaution.
“Auditions were stopped for an hour, but eventually resumed and the dance troupe was given the green light to move on to the next round.”
During Friday’s auditions, Simon put on a strange show on the carpet when he took off his coat but chose to keep his black gloves on.
The star arrived wearing his usual gray T-shirt and jeans while his assistant kept him dry under an umbrella.
After removing his black quilted coat on the red carpet, Simon appeared to be in good spirits after Bruno was seen warming up to the TV star earlier while the foursome waited at a tram stop.
Bruno wrapped his brown fur coat around Simon as the two tried to share his warmth.
The dancer looked to the moon as he greeted fans on the carpet after joining the judging panel for the first time last year.
Simon had previously been forced to withdraw from filming due to illness.
The music mogul was pictured arriving to film an earlier round of auditions in Manchester on Tuesday, after being struck by a severe headache that left him too ill to work.
While heading to The Lowry, Simon showed off his admiration while wearing one of his signature black ensembles.
While he was previously seen wearing a pair of tinted ‘blue light filter’ glasses, which are believed to help prevent migraines, this time he has swapped them for a pair of signature aviators.
