RIPTA CEO Scott Avedisian faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident

WARWICK — Dominic Capa and Ariana Andrade were hit from behind in a McDonald’s aisle last week.

A black SUV struck Capa from behind, pushing her Mercedes Benz into a Toyota Camry driven by Andrade, according to a Warwick police report.

Police say the driver of the SUV is Rhode Island Transit Authority CEO Scott D. Avedisian.

But at that point, Capa and Andrade identified him as the man responsible for the three-car crash, according to their comments in the police report.

Cappa told police the man who got out of the SUV looked old and his eyes were “blood red,” the report said. After asking Capa and Andrade to pull aside, the man “immediately drove off and drove away,” according to comments the report says Capa made to police.
