Sir Richard Branson has shown the extent of his injuries after a horrific bike accident.

The 73-year-old Virgin business mogul revealed his bloody scratches after hitting a pothole and falling from his bike on Virgin Gorda.

Branson posted a photo on his Instagram page alongside Alex Wilson, who was also riding with him, while the businessman’s arm was covered in blood.

He came away with more than a few cuts and bruises when he revealed the accident, which came after he “nearly died” in a high-speed bike crash in 2016, which left a hematoma in his hip.

“I had a big tumble while biking on Virgin Gorda a while ago!” He wrote in the comment.

“I hit a pothole and crashed hard, giving me another hematoma in my thigh and a bad cut on my elbow, but surprisingly nothing was broken. We were cycling with Alex Wilson, who fell behind me, but fortunately he was OK.” also.

‘I consider myself very lucky, and I feel grateful that I keep myself active and healthy. After all, the brave may not live forever, but the cautious don’t live at all!’

This is not the first time Branson has been involved in a bike accident in the Virgin Islands after the billionaire collided head first on the road during a training session with his children in 2016.

He was taken to Miami for an X-ray and scan, where it was found that he had a cracked cheek and torn ligaments.

“I was heading down the hill towards Leverick Bay when suddenly it got dark and I managed to bump into a ‘sleeping policeman’ on the way,” he wrote.

“The next thing I knew I was being pushed over the wheel and my life was literally flashing before my eyes. I really thought I was going to die.

“I flew head first into the concrete road, but fortunately my shoulders and cheeks took the brunt of the impact.”

His bike was less fortunate, as it flew off the cliff.

“I really couldn’t believe I was alive, let alone not paralyzed,” he said, adding that wearing a helmet saved his life.

In 2021, Branson feared he had broken his back while falling from his bike during a charity event.

“I was navigating a steep corner, with a massive incline to my left, a car coming up the hill, and my fellow striver, Felix Stelmaszczyk, in front of me passing the car,” he wrote in his blog.

I hit the brakes, but they didn’t respond. I was going faster and faster, and my options were to go down the slope, crash into the car, or possibly crash into Felix (Stellmaszek).

“I shouted to Felix: ‘The brakes aren’t working!’ – but he had no chance of getting out of the way. We crashed – hard.

We both fell off our bikes and our heads and bodies hit the concrete road.

“There is no doubt that wearing helmets has saved our lives – and this is not the first time this has happened.

“We were both lying on the road while the rest of the team gathered around us.

“I stayed still, hoping I didn’t break my back or become paralyzed. Slowly, I moved my limbs and was relieved that they responded. Fortunately, Felix was okay too.
