One person has died after a crash near UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh

                                        Now, with the update.  A man has now died after being involved in an accident here on Allied Street.  It happened right in front of UPMC MERCY, where 40-year-old James Pendleton was killed in this crash.  According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's report.  He was a passenger and one of the cars and died in hospital shortly after the accident.  AT, a UPMC spokesman said.  Five adults from the crash were taken to their hospitals, dispatchers said it happened around 1:30 this morning in the northbound lanes of Boulevard of the Allies, right in the city's Bluff neighborhood, and there were about a dozen first responders at the scene.  You can see how the two cars involved in this accident were destroyed.  Debris was all over the street, and lanes were closed for about three hours while crews investigated and towed the cars away.                 One person was killed in a crash near UPMC Mercy Hospital Friday morning.  Allegheny County dispatchers confirmed that the call for a multi-vehicle accident came in in Pittsburgh's Bluff neighborhood around 1:30 a.m.  A UPMC spokesman said five adults from the accident were transported to its hospitals.  A PennDOT spokesman said Route 885, Allied Boulevard, was closed to traffic, but reopened after crews cleared the scene.  At about 6 a.m. Friday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said James Pendleton, 40, of Pittsburgh, was killed in the crash.  The Medical Examiner's Office described him as a passenger in a vehicle.
