Formula 1 concludes its only triple-double run of the 2023 season this weekend in Brazil with the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

Interlagos and Autodromo JosΓ© Karls Pace are favorites for drivers and fans alike due to their unique twisty design, elevation changes and tendency to provide memorable and exciting moments. Just last year, Kevin Magnussen won his first pole position (although that was aided by weather), and George Russell won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Can Lando Norris finally break through? Will Lewis Hamilton affect Sergio Perez’s lead over him in the drivers’ standings? Can someone other than Red Bull win another race in 2023?

The final drag racing weekend of 2023

In 2021, Formula 1 introduced the Sprint Weekend system, which moved traditional qualifying to Friday and in its place put in place a shortened race that would award a minimum of points and set the grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday. After making some nominal adjustments, we have our current format for the 2023 season, making Saturday more like an exhibition. This weekend marks the sixth and final weekends of the 2023 Sprint format.

The 2023 format ditches the Saturday morning practice session in favor of a faster version of the traditional three-stage qualifying format to determine the grid for the sprint race later in the day. The top eight finishers in the race will be awarded points in descending order (eight for P1, seven for P2, six for P3, etc.).
