Geostationary satellites (from Unit 6 – Gravity)

Reynolds number, Newton’s law of cooling (from Unit 7 – Properties of Solids and Liquids)

Carnot’s engine and its efficiency (from Unit Eight – Thermodynamics)

Free, forced, and damped vibrations, resonance, and pulsations. The Doppler effect in sound (from Unit 10 – Oscillations and Waves)

Resistances of different materials, color code of resistors, potentiometer – principle and its applications (from Unit 12 – Electric Current)

Cyclotron. Magnetic susceptibility and permeability. Deceleration. Electromagnets and Permanent Magnets (from Unit 13 – Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism)

Quality factor (from Unit 14 – Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents)

Lens formula. Analysis of the power of astronomical microscopes and telescopes (from Unit 16 – Optics)

Davison-Germer experiment (from Unit 17 – The dual nature of matter and radiation)

Isotopes, isobars: isotopes. Radioactivity-alpha. Beta and gamma particles/rays and their properties; Law of Radioactive Decay (from Unit 18 – Atoms and Nuclei)

Junction transistor, operation of transistor, characteristics of transistor: Transistor as an amplifier (common emitter configuration) and oscillator. Transistor as a switch. (From Unit 19 – Electronic Devices)

Unit 20: Communications Systems – Propagation of electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere; The propagation of waves in the sky and space. Need for modification. Adjust the amplitude, frequency, and bandwidth of signals. Bandwidth of the transmission medium, and basic elements of a communication system (block diagram only).

Plot the cooling curve of the relationship between the temperature of the hot body and time, the characteristic curves of the transistor and find the current gain and voltage gain, using a multimeter to: (i) Determine the base of the transistor (ii) Distinguish between an NPN and a PNP type transistor (iii) See unidirectional current in The case has a diode and an LED. (4) Verifying the correctness or incorrectness of a particular electronic component (diode, transistor, or integrated circuit) (from Unit 21 – Experimental Skills).
