Bunscoil Loreto Gorey recently celebrated Science Week with a full week of activities. This year’s theme was ‘Exploring Humans and Their Impacts’ which is very topical and allowed students to be creative and explore many interesting questions.

Exploration was certainly the case at Bunscoil Loreto Gorey as the whole school got involved in a week full of activities. Students participated in trips to all the local high school science labs, a raptor workshop, a sports science quiz, and many other science investigations.

One of the highlights of the week was their “Loreto Science Fair”. This is the science fair’s second year, and it has grown into something that almost rivals Science Blast and BT Young Scientist, two national science competitions. Pupils carried out research and made fascinating 3D models showing how some of their findings worked, while others had posters containing the theory behind their projects.

It was a special week at school and is something the pupils will always remember and will help them move forward into the future as inquisitive learners.
