An accident on the A55 in Flintshire has caused long delays

An accident has caused damage on the A55 in Flintshire. One lane has been closed and there is traffic congestion in the east direction due to the nearby accident Northup.

Congestion accumulated between Interchange 33 and J34.

This photo taken by passenger Gareth Evans shows the scale of the emergency services response to an accident on the eastbound A55 near Northop.

Returns piled up around 11.15am today. A short time ago, the Inrix traffic website reported that one lane remained closed.

He also said traffic was queuing from J33 A5119 Northup road (Northup) to J34 A494 (Eoloi) for approximately ten minutes.

Along the A55 in Conwy, one eastbound lane was closed due to a broken down vehicle.

Drivers are being urged to be careful by Traffic Wales North on the X.

“Two ambulances”

A road accident has caused long delays for drivers traveling eastbound on the A55 this lunchtime.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Northop at around 11.15am.

One witness told North Wales Live: “We saw at least two ambulances and two police cars as we passed. We were traveling west but there was a very long traffic jam on the east side.”

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they had not been called to this incident.

“Allow extra time for the trip.”

There is congestion on the A55 eastbound near Pentre Halkyn after emergency services were called to an accident at around 11.15am.

‘Long delays’

Traffic website Inrix reported that the incident resulted in the closure of one eastbound lane of the A55 from J33 of the A5119 near Northop to J34 of the A494 near Ewloe. Congestion extends to Interchange 32A.

Enrix says there are long delays and it takes motorists about 30 minutes to get through the blockage.
