During an interview with New Mexico State Police, the truck driver admitted to wearing headphones while speaking with his father on the phone at the time of the fatal accident.  The family's attorney, Shane Meyer, is seeking manslaughter charges for Kehlani's fatal death.  “There are no words to describe it, for any parent who loses a child, no matter if it was for 10 days or 20 years, there is a piece of your heart being taken away,” Claudia Morales told KOAT.  "Before all of this happened, the feelings that we had were, we were a happy family. It was the most exciting time for us, because it was a child that we had been waiting for, and we had been waiting for a long time," DeLatorre said.  "We had my son Dylan and my daughter Vanessa. We were just happy before this incident. We're not happy anymore, because we don't have Kehlani anymore, she's not in our lives." “Before all of this happened, the feelings that we had were, we were a happy family.
